Hamburg man, 28, accused of injuring 4-month-old puppy – Buffalo News

A Hamburg man faces a felony animal cruelty charge for allegedly throwing a puppy to the ground and hitting the dog, according to the Erie County District Attorney’s office.
Kyle Ribarich, 28, of Hamburg
Kyle Ribarich, 28, was arraigned in Hamburg Town Court on Thursday morning on a charge of aggravated animal cruelty, prosecutors said in a news release.
Ribarich is accused of injuring the dog inside a Hamburg home on the morning of Nov. 13. Prosecutors alleged Ribarich threw the 4-month-old Rottweiler to the ground multiple times and struck the puppy with his hand and a closed fist.
The dog was taken to a veterinarian by its owner where it underwent surgery for a broken leg.
The charge does not qualify for bail, so Ribarich was released on his own recognizance, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
Hamburg Town Justice Carl Morgan issued an order of protection for the dog’s owner.
Ribarich is scheduled to return to town court on Jan. 11.

Christopher J. Belter, who sexually assaulted four teenage girls in separate incidents in his home, will remain on probation for another eight years.

The verdict came following more than 10 hours of deliberations in Niagara County Court by a 12-person jury. Belstadt was remanded without bail. Sentencing was scheduled for Jan. 10.

“I thought the crimes he committed were so sick, nothing could save him. So I fought, and after four years of the hardest fight I will ever see in my life, I just felt like I lost to his privilege,” the woman said.

“I have to answer to God,” 87-year-old Monsignor Ronald P. Sciera said. “I have a hope that justice will be served, and the truth will come to light.”

The victim, who police did not identify Saturday, was taken to Erie County Medical Center and is expected to survive, police said.
A Niagara Falls man was sentenced Monday to 23 years in state prison for sexually abusing two Falls girls over a period of several years.

The suspect, who is facing unspecified charges, also was taken to ECMC for treatment, DeGeorge noted.

The victim, identified as a 40-year-old male employee, “was trapped in a large roller that is used to feed paper,” said a statement.

The DNA testing that proved Mandy Steingasser’s pubic hair was in Joseph Belstadt’s car, and that fibers from the car’s carpet were stuck to her body, was a key factor in his conviction, according to one of the jurors in the case.

A Niagara Falls man has been accused of two gunpoint rapes and one knifepoint rape in Buffalo in 2017 when he was 17 years old.
