Montgomery man dies 18 days after being shot, police conducting death investigation –

Montgomery police are conducting a death investigation after a man who was shot late last month died from his injuries Thursday.
Elrico Briggs, 34, of Montgomery, was found shot by police and fire medics around 12:50 p.m. Oct. 31 near North Anton Drive, said Montgomery police spokeswoman Capt. Saba Coleman. The investigation later determined the victim was shot in the 100 block of South Haardt Drive.
Briggs was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a life-threatening gunshot wound.
The Montgomery man died from his injuries on Thursday, Coleman said.
Circumstances surrounding the shooting remained under investigation.
