Jonathan Hausman was named senior managing director-global investment strategy at the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, Toronto, where he will lead the plan’s new Global Investment Strategy department.
The new unit will enhance the pension plan’s “global competitive advantage” by developing and building “conviction on strategic responses to emerging global themes.” It also will work with the investment team to “support innovation, and continuing to develop and leverage differentiated strategic relationships,” according to a news release issued Wednesday.
Mr. Hausman was as managing director-global strategic relationships. He will continue to report to Chief Investment Officer Ziad Hindo, company spokesman Dan Madge said in an email, adding that the Global Investment Strategy team has about 10 staff members. Mr. Hausman’s previous position will not be filled, Mr. Madge said.
“Having an informed and integrated view of strategic trends has always been core to our approach to delivering superior returns and impact over the long term. The Global Investment Strategy team will deepen our capacity to identify and tackle multifaceted themes as we grow our investments around the world,” stated Mr. Hindo in the release.
OTPP said it had C$227.7 billion ($184 billion) in net assets as of June 30.
