One vehicle crash
RENOVO — The driver of a 2001 Ram 1500 suffered possible injuries following a one vehicle crash along Tamarack Road, Leidy Township, Clinton County, state police at Lamar said.
At 3:55 a.m. on Nov. 17, Joseph Atkinson, 40, of Coatesville, Pa., was traveling at unsafe speeds while negotiating a left curve in the roadway, police said.
Atikinson’s vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, abruptly swerved back onto the road before crossing into the oncoming lane of traffic, police said.
The vehicle then exited the leftside of the road and struck an embankment and tree before overturning on its roof, police said.
According to police, Atkinson failed to remain on the scene and was contacted at a later date where he reported minor injuries.
He was cited for not traveling on roadways laned for traffic, driving vehicle at an unsafe speed, failure to notify police, failure to report crash, careless driving, restrictions on alcoholic beverages and failure to maintain a single lane. Charges were filed at MDJ 25-3-03.
Renovo and South Renovo fire departments, Renovo EMS and Showcase Towing assisted on the scene.

Unemployment scam

LOGANTON — State police at Lamar received a report of an unemployment scam from a 42-year-old Loganton woman on Nov. 19.
False alarm at Truck Lite
BEECH CREEK — State police at Lamar responded to a false alarm at Truck Lite, 107 Industrial Park Road, Beech Creek on Nov. 21.
This is the tenth false alarm at the businesses in two months, according to police.
Truck Lite was cited for false alarm faults as a result.
Drug possession
LAMAR — Donald Sauerwine, 25, of Wilkes Barre, was charged with drug possession following a traffic stop along Interstate 80 West near mile marker 1772, Lamar Township, Clinton County, state police at Lamar said.
During the traffic stop, conducted at 3:53 p.m. on Nov. 22, police found a small amount of marijuana in Sauerwine’s 2013 Volkswagen Jetta, police said.
Charges were filed through district judge 25-3-2.
Wallet found
BELLEFONTE — State police at Rockview received a wallet which was found near Tubbies in State College on Nov. 23. The wallet is at the Rockview Barracks.
Fraud
HUBLERSBURG — Between the dates of Oct. 18 and Oct. 27, a 73-year-old man and a 53-year-old man, both of Bellefonte, were contacted by a fraudulent text message saying they won a $50,000 lottery, state police at Rockview said.
The victims were instructed to send photos of the numbers of $10,500 in a combination of Ebay gift cards and Master charge gift cards to the sender of the message, police said in their report.
A total of three $100 Master card gift cards and 102 $50 Ebay gift cards were stolen, valued at $10,500, police said.
Unemployment scam
HUBLERSBURG — State police at Lamar took an unemployment scam where the victim, a 43-year-old Bellefonte man, works in State College.
The investigation continues.
Drug possession
SNOW SHOE — A 26-year-old Morrisdale man was found in possession of a large amount of methanphetamine and heroin during a traffic stop at the intersection of West Sycamore Road and Morgan Lane, Snow Shoe Township, Centre County, state police at Rockview said.
The traffic stop took place on Nov. 13 at 3:40 a.m. It was determined during the investigation the driver, whose name was not listed, was under the influence of drugs, police said.
DUI
BELLEFONTE — Alyssa Hand, 22, of State College, was arrested for driving under the influence following a traffic stop near the intersection of state Route 144 and state Route 150, Boggs Township, Centre County on Oct. 24, state police at Rockview said.
The stop was conducted at 12:03 a.m.
Deer strikes vehicle
LAMAR — The driver of a 2006 GMC Sierra and his passenger were not injured after a whitetail deer caused the vehicle to crash along Interstate 80 East near milemarker 173, Porter Township, Clinton County, state police at Lamar said.
At 11:15 p.m., Daniel A. Iasrate, 28, of Norwalk, Conn. and his passenger Stephen L. Meckley, 49, of Norwalk, Conn., were traveling east on the roadway when a whitetail deer ran onto the interstate and struck the vehicle, police said.
The deer continued across both lanes of travel while Iasrate’s vehicle came to rest on the right hand berm of the roadway, police said.
No charges were filed and the vehicle was towed from the scene by Tressler’s Towing.
