Driving snow-blind: Hollo Oval
On Jan. 4, a Hollo Oval resident called police after watching a neighbor drive a red Ford SUV into the back of her black Ford Focus.
The caller said the issue was that the man didn’t defrost his windshield. So when leaving his driveway, he “plowed” into the back of her Focus.
The neighbor kept driving, but was later contacted by police. He returned driving a different vehicle than the one involved in the crash.
The man was cited for causing the crash and hit-and-run.
Drug abuse: Sprague Road
On Jan. 4, police observed a Ford with heavily tinted windows traveling on Sprague Road. While talking to the driver, the officer smelled marijuana. After searching the Ford, the officer discovered a small amount of marijuana.
The driver was cited for drug abuse, but given a warning regarding the window tint.
Suspicious vehicle: Royalton Road
On Jan. 4, police observed a suspicious Dodge parked in a Royalton Road parking lot. The officer said the vehicle was running but unoccupied.
At that point, the owner arrived at the Dodge. The man was advised about the dangers of leaving an unattended vehicle running.
Fallen and can’t get up: Whitney Road
On Jan. 4, a Whitney Road resident called police after hearing a loud thump on her ceiling, followed by cries of someone calling for help.
An arriving officer located the apartment; however, the injured resident wasn’t able to open the door. Maintenance was called. The resident was taken to the hospital.
Theft: Pearl Road
On Jan. 4, a Walmart employee called police after discovering that their Samsung tablet had been stolen from the Pearl Road store while they were working. There are no suspects. Police are investigating.
Harassing communication: Bowman Drive
On Jan. 4, a Bowman Drive resident came to the police station regarding a harassment complaint. The man told an officer his 10-year-old daughter had been harassed on New Year’s Eve. Police are investigating.
