Tri County teacher on leave amid sex crime investigation –

PIERSON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A Tri County High School teacher is under investigation for allegedly having sex with a student, the Newaygo County Sheriff’s Office confirms.
No charges have yet been filed and neither the sheriff’s office nor the school have released the teacher’s name.
In a statement sent to parents, the district confirmed the teacher has been on administrative leave since Aug. 10, when school officials were informed of the investigation.
The district said the teacher has not taught any classes, coached, nor been on campus so far this term.

WALKER, Mich. (WOOD) — Police in Walker said they are investigating two separate fatal crashes Monday night.

DETROIT (AP) — Eloy Jiménez hit a two-run home run, Yasmani Grandal homered to spark a six-run fourth inning and the AL Central champion Chicago White Sox held off the Detroit Tigers in a testy 8-7 win.
The benches cleared after Chicago first baseman Jose Abreu and Detroit shortstop Niko Goodrum exchanged words when Abreu was tagged out attempting to steal second base in the ninth. Abreu had been hit by a pitch from Alex Lange one inning after the Tigers’ Isaac Paredes was hit by a pitch.
